Please inform Japanese Government that His Majesty's Government reserve the right to claim compensation for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the apprehension and
detention of the "Asian".
This would of course be independent of any representations or claims that may have to be made in respect of specific illegalities or other unlawful acts committed by the Japanese while the vessel was under detention.
